A reserved and private young man, Masao often goes for the practical approach to things. He believes that emotions should not influence any of his decisions and therefore favors the logical aspects, and as a result, keeps a calm attitude in emotionally charged situations. As a result, he may appear very harsh toward others as well as facing difficulties tuning in other's emotional needs. While Masao was difficulty expressing himself toward others, he is by no means insensitive or no feelings at all (even though he appears cold-hearted). When it comes with family or his close friends, is he extremely loyal towards them and shows it through actions rather than words.

Despite the fact that he rarely expresses himself, there will be cases of Masao expressing his annoyance and irritation towards others who failed to meet their obligations. One thing to note about Masao is his narrowed-mindedness. While he does not assume anything (as he relies on facts), he is stubborn when it comes to accepting ideas and changes (especially if it alters his lifestyle). As a result, he may be judgemental with only seeing one side of the spectrum

A promise means the world to Masao and he will do whatever he can to complete it. If he failed to meet their expectations, he may unreasonably blame himself for failing his duty. However, he will flat out refuse if he does not see it as a practical application or if it doesn't make sense to him. (i.e. He will refuse to go to social gatherings.)

Background:

Childhood: The Beginning of Life
Masao's birth began in a large and noisy Japanese hospital in the city of Kyoto by his two parents who were just fresh out of college. His parents, although they planned to have a child after they find a home, still tried to do their best for their son. The circumstances were rather hard on his parents as both were still inexperience young adults. Still, with his boisterous and talkative mother and his meek, but righteous father, they did their best to give and raise him with affection.

Masao as a toddler is rather still and quiet most of the time, yet the boy appears to admire his father due to his job as a policeman. 

Elementary School: Meeting New People
While Masao didn't have too much difficulties to enter the school, it was hard for him to make a lot of friends due to his 'choices'. He, for example would do his homework instead of going to a meaningless party. But, despite his strange and introverted behavior, he does show his harsh and unforgiving attitude at the class clowns and troublemakers. This as a result caused a huge stir-especially toward the students who labeled him as a "snitch", or "Teacher's Pet". There have been times when Masao himself was bullied, but that usually goes away quickly (as his father was a cop).

When Masao entered third grade, his family moved a little apartment that was meant for two into a small, but comfy home when his father had gotten a promotion as well as a change of location. While the family had a small celebration, Masao cannot help, but feel that the distance between him and his father is a bit further apart. And he wasn't wrong on that one.

Middle School: The Awkward Years
Joining a baseball club due to his parents occupied with their jobs, Masao will admit that he found it quite refreshing. Normally, the boy would just study because there wasn't any other practical reason to do something that's meaningless. He eventually made his way into an Ace pitcher by the beginning of his eighth grade year through hard work. While Masao talked a little more despite his reserved and introverted personality and sometimes even go to a couple of parties. While it did took his mind off of some things, he remain a bit bitter with his father not being able to see his game.

But when he heard his father was able to see him play in the little leagues, Masao put more effort than he should-something Masao regrets for not "thinking straight". Increasing his pitching training without any breaks caused a huge strain in his arm. And during the playoffs, Masao never realized that he would get a major pitching injury as a result...
